Pork Belly With Perfect Crispy Crackling – The Ultimate Recipe!

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients

  • Pork belly: 0.5kg
  • Purple onion: 30g
  • Green onions: 20-30g
  • Fresh chili: 2 pieces
  • Cooking oil
  • Common seasoning (sugar/salt/fish sauce/seasoning powder/ pepper)

Step 2: Prepare ingredients

  • Peel and chop the onions
  • Cut green onions into 2 parts: root and stem
  • Cut the stem into small pieces. Cut ⅔ of the leaves into 2-3cm long pieces, and cut the remaining 1/3 into small pieces for decoration after preparing the dish. finely chop onions
  • Sliced fresh chili.
  • Soak the pork belly in diluted salt water for 5 minutes, then wash it before slicing. Be sure to cut into ⅓ of your hand's length so that the meat doesn't dry out after cooking
  • After slicing the meat, marinade it with 1/2 teaspoon of sugar and a little chopped onion. You can season it according to your family's preferences, rather than the directions above.

Step 3: Cook caramel sauce

The caramel sauce adds to the gorgeous hue and makes the meal more appealing. To make it, you can add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil with 3 tablespoons of sugar and swirl over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and turns into a caramel color. Then whisk in 2 teaspoons of hot water.

Step 4: Roast the pork belly

Temperature the pan over high heat and roast the pork until it is golden brown on each side. Evenly stir both sides of the meat. Roast the onion and red onion together. Then add in 2 teaspoons of fish sauce, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1/2 tablespoon MSG, 2 tablespoons of seasoning powder, and 1 tablespoon of pepper.

Raise the temperature and continue to cook until the gravy thickens, then season to taste. Finally, place the meat on a serving dish and garnish with green onions. You now have an aromatic meal of crispy pork belly.
